One Thing Less to Worry About
Do you worry and fret about the arrival of your infant's baby teeth or your child's permanent teeth? The fact is, once your child's tooth becomes wiggly, it can take anywhere from 2 months to a year for that tooth to fall out. Once a baby tooth does fall out, it can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 1 year for the new permanent tooth successor to erupt into the mouth. No need to worry…rest assured that this is normal. There are certain conditions or syndromes that can delay exfoliation or eruption of teeth, but those are rare. Your child's teeth grow and erupt in spurts. There are even times during the eruptive (growing in) process that your child's teeth actually intrude back into the gums a little. It's kind of like they say, "two steps forward, one step back". Teeth generally erupt faster during nighttime sleep. This is because your child's body produces more growth hormones at night.
