Thank you so much for your caring, kind way with Kayla. When she was 5 years old, she was diagnosed with numerous dental problems. Kayla felt very apprehensive and needed an office that was gentle and comfortable. We are so glad we listened to our friend's recommendation to see you for her dental needs.

Kayla loves coming to see you - sometimes it seems she goes there just to play! As parents, we are so appreciative of the excellent oral hygiene skills you have taught her and the pride that she now takes in her smile. We live a good distance from your office, so I tried taking the girls to a closer dentist once - it was a disaster! They cried and said they wanted their "real dentist" back. Thank you so very much for all of your help with my 8 year old son, Kaleb. He was in to get a simple extraction to prepare for braces and was so scared to have the procedure done. With your help he was able to relax and have the procedure completed. He is now going to get braces before the new school year starts.

We adopted our son at 5 1/2 years of age. He had suffered many years of neglect, had major dental problems and was terrified of going to the dentist. We were so fortunate to find Dr. Hsu and the Silver Star Dental Practice Team. The office is inviting for both kids and adults. Dr. Hsu and his staff are very compassionate and truly enjoy their work. Patient comfort is a high priority - gentle hands and kid-appropriate explanations about what was going to be done, significantly decreased our son's anxiety.

Dr. Hsu offered us a variety of options from local anesthesia to oral conscious sedation to accomplish multiple procedures in only 2 visits. We were encouraged to stay with our son throughout each visit. Dr. Hsu is knowledgeable about the latest treatments and his practice is state of the art. Despite the extensive dental work he needed, my son is excited about his trips to the dentist and asks when he can go back to see Dr. Hsu.

I met Dr. Hsu two years ago while acting as the Director of the Truckee State Preschool. For six years I had been involved with the dental care concerns in the Truckee area. There literally was no help for children under the age of 5. Dr. Hsu was the only dentist in the whole region who accepted our children!

We made a trip down with a van load of children not realizing what a treasure we had found! He has been instrumental in our goal to prepare children for a successful entry to kindergarten. We took pictures of all of our children whom he had treated and were surprised that it was enough to fill a kindergarten class! Imagine our joy of sending children on, ready to learn, free of decayed infected teeth. The parents have gone to Dr. Hsu nervous due to their own fears of childhood experiences with dentists. I have watched as parents begin to relax and quickly trust that Dr. Hsu is doing the very best for their child! The service is friendly and as the parents stand by their child's side, Dr. Hsu and his staff take time to educate them about their role in caring for their child's teeth.

The children have responded quicker than the adults to all the games, surprises and fun. Who would have thought that going to the dentist could be fun!

What continues to please me is how each child is treated with up most respect. Dr. Hsu is incredibly patient with the children. It is an honor for me to refer families to the Silver Star Dental Practice. Dr. Hsu and his staff are one in a million. Do children want to go back to the dentist? Unanimously the answer is YES!

Your entire staff is phenomenal, and my children truly enjoy visiting your office. The atmosphere of your office is very inviting and welcoming to children. I really think the flat screen TV's on the ceiling is a fabulous idea, and the kids love picking out a prize with their coin at the end of the visit.

You are always willing to spend whatever time needed to explain any questions I may have, and most importantly, you speak to me as an equal, unlike other dentists my children have seen in the past.
